Getting Hired in Aviation is an informative and interactive seminar aimed at giving you, the low time pilot, the tools you need to make the transition into the industry and getting your first job as a professional pilot. We will cover topics ranging from the various types of flying jobs that are out there to resume preparation and everything in between. We will also talk about what a day in the life looks like as a pilot in various roles, and go over industry terms – language that is used daily inside the industry. In Getting Hired in Aviation, you will not only learn about how to get hired, but will get up to date information on current hiring trends, and where to look for the best available jobs for your chosen path.

Jeff Lightheart is a WestJet Encore Captain, Victoria Flying Club Alumni and a big believer in passing on what he has learned to those who will benefit. Prior to flying for WestJet he flew the Beechcraft 1900D for Central Mountain air and flew 3 types of Metroliners for Sunwest Aviation and Carson Air Ltd. Previous to this he was a proud instructor at The Victoria Flying Club. Jeff started his flying career later in life. In fact, he took his introductory flight at the age of 32, so he is living proof that anything is possible if you are dedicated and armed with information.  Along with extensive knowledge of the aviation industry, Jeff brings to the table experience in business, sales, management, and heavy duty mechanics.
