Instructor Rating
The Instructor Rating can be started once you have completed the Commercial Pilot Licence. Training consists of 25 hours of ground briefing and 30 hours of dual flight training, including a minimum of 5 hours of instrument time. Candidates can expect to spend about 250 hours of their own time developing their lesson plans and refining their instructional techniques. A written examination (minimum pass mark 70%) and a flight test with a Transport Canada Examiner will complete the rating. While there is no solo time requirement for the Instructor Rating, practice is strongly recommended.
This program has been approved by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills & Training.
